For most people, the cooling standard with the PC has been deemed sufficient. but how
with mania that forced the PC processor overclock its work until the threshold
ability? I'm sure they will feel less cooling performance standard with
PC and look for better cooling / cooler. Or how about a notebook that
requires the system to save power that he used? In addition to the low-power processors,
notebook cooling fan which also apply to work as needed.
PC cooling technology is also evolved over the task of facilitation of
processor. But it does not sepesat processor technology development itself. this is because
for normal conditions, the use of standard cooling technology is sufficient to cool
processor. Broadly speaking, this type of cooling system can be divided into three, namely the cooling system
air, water cooling systems, and peltier.
Air Cooling System
This cooling system is the oldest in the world of PC and still
used to date. This system dominates the cooling system
on the PC because of its simplicity and lower cost. though
This system also has some drawbacks, one of which
is very noisy.
Air conditioning system consists of 2 pieces of components, namely
heatsink and fan. Heatsink is useful to absorb the heat on
processor. Blades, the blade is useful for transporting heat processors
to the surrounding air. While the fan heatsink is useful to describe the heat to the surrounding air by
faster. That is why the heatsink-bladed blades designed to make it easier for
distribution of heat to the surrounding air.
Water Cooling System
The system uses water to absorb
heat in the heatsink. The principle works like
with the system on a car radiator. On
processor installed water block that contains many
strip of copper / aluminum serving
like a heatsink, which absorbs heat
processor. But the planks are laid
in a block that contains water. On this block
there are two channels, one for incoming
water and the other to exit the water. Well, the heat
in the blades of the heatsink is absorbed by water
then thrown out into the water block
reservoir or reservoir water through the hose
water. The water is then cooled with fan
contained in the coolant reservoir. Water
in a reservoir that has been chilled and then
pumped by a miniature electric water pump out
reservoir through a water hose and then enter
to block the water to replace water that has been circulating cool the heatsink. So this water
circulates cool the heatsink, then back out into the water reservoir which is then
This heat will be cooled by a fan.
Because the distance between the blocks with the reservoir water can be flexible with the distance as far as 3 meters, this
means no fan motors in the PC. Reservoir cooling fan motors and water pumps mini electric
can be placed separately from the PC. This makes the system more silent PC.
System Peltier (thermoelectric)
It is a system that does not cool the system, but only transfers heat from
one end to the other. Difference in temperature between the hot end to cold end can
ranged from 70 degrees to 120 degrees. Peltier cooling works on the principle of pumping
hot work using very much power. This cooling system can use
80 to 130 watts of power to be able to work. While the peltier system itself also generates
so that heat is also required heatsink and fan for peltier system. So if we add the
the overall system temperature, then the use of peltier system will be more heat. But the temperature at
processor can be as cold as the temperature of our refrigerator.
Technically the use of peltier system is ideal because it can move the processor heat
out the system well and fast PC, but it also brings many problems peltier &
hazards, such as overheating if the fan is dead who will burn the processor, electrical problem
because the peltier using too much power, condensation / condensation that occurs due to
an extreme difference between the temperature of the processor that is cooled by ambient temperature. To
more information, you can read it in www.peltier-info.com.
Once we understand some of the above cooling technology, we can use technology
cooling at the top to build computing systems with an appropriate cooling system.
Here is an example of its application.
